After winning the second ODI against West Indies, India’s Axar Patel, Avesh Khan, and Yuzvendra Chahal lied down on the ground to strike Chahal’s viral meme-pose. India defeated the Windies by two wickets in a thriller on Sunday, July 24 at the Port of Spain in Trinidad.

Chahal was caught on camera relaxing when India were playing against Sri Lanka in the 2019 World Cup. Chahal also recreated the viral pose after completing a hat-trick in IPL 2022.

Indian middle-order batters helped India chase the huge target of 312. Axar Patel was the hero of the match. He smashed a good 64 runs off 35 balls, which was also his maiden half-century in ODIs.

The 28-year-old kept India’s chase till the last innings and a six off a full toss from pacer Kyle Mayers ended the innings to give the Men in Blue an assailable 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.

After the match, Patel, pacer Avesh Khan (who also played his maiden ODI in this match) , and the man himself, Yuzvendra Chahal, recreated the viral “Yuzvendra Chahal meme-pose”. The Board of Control for Cricket in India, BCCI, shared the picture. You can see the picture below:

With the unbeaten knock of 64 runs off 35 balls, Axar Patel broke MS Dhoni‘s 17-year-long record in ODI cricket. He smashed five sixes during the chase, which is also the most by an India batter at No. 7 or lower in a successful ODI chase.

Dhoni has smashed three sixes back in 2005 against Zimbabwe during India’s chase. Yusuf Pathan also equalled Dhoni’s sixes twice in his career. He hit them both in 2011, against South Africa and Ireland.
