Babar Azam goes to Shaheen Afridi’s wedding reception while rumors of their rifts spread around

Shaheen Shah Afridi recently got married to Shahid Afridi’s daughter, Ansha Afridi. The couple had gotten engaged in March 2021 and had a private nikah ceremony in February 2023. He held another marriage ceremony just days after Pakistan got knocked out of the 2023 Asia Cup.
After getting knocked out of the Asia Cup by Sri Lanka, there were rumors afloat about a falling out between Captain Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi. After losing to Pakistan, Babar was lecturing the team due to their poor performance against Sri Lanka. Shaheen Afridi spoke up and asked him to credit the ones that did perform well. This caused Babar’s anger to increase and Mohammad Rizwan needed to cool things between them.
After this fight, people claimed there was a falling out between the two. But those rumors were debunked after Babar Azam attended Shaheen’s wedding. Babar later congratulated Shaheen on the social media site, X. Shaheen also posted a photo of him and Babar with the caption, “Family.”
Shahid Afridi wants Shaheen Shah Afridi to replace Babar Azam as Captain
After Pakistan got knocked out of the 2023 Asia Cup, many fans were upset. Fans and members of the cricket fraternity started demanding changes to the team. One of them was Shahid Afridi saying Babar Azam must be sacked as captain, with Shaheen Afridi replacing him. Shahid also added that Shaheen had done better as a captain in the Pakistan Super League.
Shahid dismissed this statement, saying it was fake. In an interview with Pakistani news channel, Samaa TV, he said, ““I don’t understand why they are saying such things, even though I express my views on Samaa. I share my perspective on Samaa, but they interpret it in their own way. Although I am the only person who keeps Shaheen away from the captaincy.
Babar will be leading Pakistan in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup, which will be hosted by India. They will play 2 warm up games with New Zealand and Australia before the World Cup starts, with their first World Cup fixture against the Netherlands.
