Rajasthan Royals’ Riyan Parag has clarified what actually happened between him and Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers Harshal Patel and Mohammed Siraj in a match in IPL 2022.

The incident happened on the 39th match of IPL and in the first innings, RR was batting. After the first innings, other players were leaving the field but Riyan Parag, Patel and Siraj were having a heated exchange of words which went viral on social media. While Riyan was returning, Siraj said something to him and Riyan then pointed towards Patel. Patel came towards them and then started the fiery fight and other players then tried to prevent it to go any further.

Siraj initiated the verbal fight, says Riyan Parag

During one of his Rooter streams, Riyan Parag then explained what actually had happened between the three players. He said that in 2021, Harshal had told him go back after dismissing him and that he didn’t know at that time what he said. It was actually after seeing the video that Parag saw Harshal’s behaviour.

Now, in 2022, Parag had played a good innings and scored 18 runs in the last over and then said something to Patel. But it was Siraj who initiated the fight, unncessarily asked Parag to behave according to his age to start the infamous spat.

Moreover, Parag also explained the run-out between him and Ravichandran Ashwin prompted news headlines to say “Riyan Parag gives death stare to Ravichandran Ashwin”. He said, the stare was just because of a sudden shock on why Ashwin didn’t run on the last ball of the final over. “He later apologized to me,” said Parag. “But people were creating stuffs like, ‘Riyan Parag gives death stare to Ashwin’,” he added.
