Team India’s head coach Rahul Dravid wants all members of the Asia Cup squad to attend the preparatory camp scheduled for the team at the NCA ahead of the tournament. The Asia Cup, set to take place in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, will begin on 30th August and will end on 17th September.
The camp is expected to be in the last week of August which might coincide with a 3-match T20I series that India are scheduled to play with Ireland starting August 18 and will go on till August 23.
Jasprit Bumrah is likely to return to international cricket through the 3-match T20I series against Ireland as well. Bumrah is recovering from a back surgery he underwent earlier this year. He missed out on the 2023 edition of the IPL as well as the all-important WTC Final between Team India and Australia.

New Captain for Team India on the cards for Ireland series
The BCCI will have to look for a new captain for the Ireland series if the mandatory preparatory camp is to take place. Ideally, if T20I skipper Hardik Pandya is to play in the Ireland series, he might have to miss out on the latter match or two of the series owing to the Asia Cup camp. Also, Pandya is a crucial member of the ODI World Cup squad and hence BCCI will refrain from sending him to Ireland considering the workload on him.
India are currently touring the West Indies where they have taken the 2-match Test series 1-0 and will be competing in a 3-match ODI series followed by a 5-match T20I series moving ahead.
