England Test skipper Ben Stokes took to Twitter to ask for the bags after a flight on British Airways. The incident happened after the recently-concluded Ashes series at The Oval on Monday (July 31).

Stokes tagged the airways and asked for the bags. British Airways did not much take time to respond to the tweet. “Bags not turned up off the plane @British_Airways and help would be greatly appreciated,” Stokes wrote.

Stokes and Co. drew the five-match Test series 2-2 after previously suffering losses in the first two matches. The hosts lost the first two matches by two wickets and 43 runs respectively but made a comeback in the third Test and the fourth Test (though the match was washed away due to rain), and secured the victory in the fifth Test.

Stokes believes the recently-concluded Ashes series has inspired new audiences to take up the sport. He said how the watchers of the game couldn’t take their eyes off what was happening on the field because the momentum kept changing throughout the series.

I think that over the last seven weeks, in particular, we’ve managed to drag a new audience towards Test cricket,” Stokes said after The Oval Test. “I think this series is genuinely what Test cricket needed.”

Stokes is not a part of England’s ODI setup anymore as he bid adieu to the 50-over format, citing a crammed-up schedule. He will be next seen in action when England will lock horns with India next year for a grueling five-match Test series. England, though there are doubts about whether their newly invented Bazball will work in India, will try to play their aggressive brand of cricket to put pressure on Rohit Sharma and Co.
