“Watching him bowl fast and get wickets is a joy” – Bhuvneshwar Kumar lauds Umran Malik for his 4-wicket haul
Umran Malik and Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s pacer, praised fellow teammate and speedster Umran Malik for his exceptional bowling in the match against Punjab Kings on April 17 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar (3/22) was supported by Umran Malik who stole the limelight with a maiden over and his 4/28.
In the post-match presentation, when Bhuvneshwar Kumar was asked about Umran, the veteran seamer said:
“More than (Umran) helping me, it means I am a target as batters think I’m slower.”
“But watching him bowl fast and get wickets is a joy. Hope the others going after me leads to wickets and not boundaries (smiles).”
Bhuvneshwar Kumar was impressive with the ball as he first dismissed Shikhar Dhawan in the third over. And later he took two wickets.
“There was no swing so I looked to hit back of a length. That was my plan against Shikhar as I knew he would step out and look for the boundary. I looked to hit a hard length and find the top edge and luckily that’s what happened, I looked to play with my field as well.
“I try to bowl to the batter’s weakness or to the ground’ dimensions. The wicket and my skills are what I look at,” Bhuvneshwar Kumar added.
