India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar reportedly removed ‘Cricketer’ from his Instagram bio and ended up sparking rumors of retirement. Netizens started sharing screenshots of Bhuvneshwar’s Instagram bio with ‘Cricketer’ and without ‘Cricketer’ to fuel the rumor.

This came after Bhuvi was ignored for the three-match ODI series as well as the five-match T20I series afterward. It’s worth mentioning that the screenshots are just from the fans and cannot be confirmed whether Bhuvi even had written ‘Cricketer’ in his bio.

Nevertheless of that, as it’s often the case, posts from the fans started going viral and they started reacting that the 33-year-old has silently bid farewell to cricket. He last featured in an India match last year in November in a T20I against New Zealand.

Some fans took Ashish Nehra’s name to suggest Bhuvi not to retire too early. At present, the Men in Blue has pacers like Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj in the pace department.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has 121 ODI caps to his name with 141 wickets. In 21 Tests, he has scalped 63 wickets and last donned the white jersey in January 2018. He has played 87 T20Is, bagging 90 wickets.

Bhuvneshwar is the second most successful bowler for India in the shortest format after Yuzvendra Chahal. Injury seemed to be the major reason why he has to sit out for tournaments. He was often seen recovering from the injuries at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Fans are waiting to hear an official announcement from Bhuvi or the BCCI to know the truth.
