“Brand ambassador of ducktak,” Dinesh Karthik faces wrath of RCB fans after getting out for golden duck in must-win game

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper batter Dinesh Karthik is having a torrid run in IPL 2023. Karthik has scored a mere 130 runs in 14 appearances for RCB this season. While the wicketkeeper batter was playing some impactful knocks for RCB in IPL 2022, Karthik has failed to live up to the expectations. The batter is even failing to spend some time in the middle.

As RCB took on Gujarat Titans (GT) in a must-win game on Sunday, Karthik registered a golden duck. The wicketkeeper batter failed big time while trying to pull Yash Dayal on the very first ball he faced. With this golden duck, Karthik also achieved an unwanted feat. He became the batter with the most ducks (17) in IPL history.

Virat Kohli does it again!

kohli century

Although Dinesh Karthik and others failed to make an impact, Virat Kohli stood tall when it mattered the most. The RCB stalwart scored his seventh IPL ton (off 60 balls) and powered RCB to a fighting total. Opening the innings for RCB along with Faf du Plessis, Kohli notched up a half-century off 35 balls.

Even with wickets falling from the other end, Kohli kept his calm and went on to notch up a consecutive century. Earlier, the 34-year-old had hit a 63-ball 100 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
