Rishabh Pant
When Rishabh Pant met with a car accident in the early morning of Friday (December 30), a Haryana Roadways bus came to rescue him, taking the cricketer out of the Mercedes with the assistance of other people. The driver, Sushil Mann, said he had no idea that the injured person was an Indian cricketer.
“I put my bus on the side and quickly ran towards the divider,” Mr. Mann told NDTV after seeing the SUV coming in high speed from the opposite direction before hitting the divider.
Mr. Mann thought the car would flip under the bus as it was turning over and over before it stopped. Pant was half out of the window and he told Mr. Mann that he was a cricketer. Pant even asked him to call his mother but her phone was switched off.
“I don’t watch cricket and I didn’t know this was Rishabh Pant. But others in my bus recognized him,” Mr. Mann said. After removing Pant, Mr. Mann quickly searched the car if any other person was there. He then took out Pant’s bag and gave him Rs 7,000-8,000 in the ambulance.
