Pakistan had a rusty start to the T20 World Cup 2022 where they lost to Team India from a solid position. In the second match again, they shocked the world when they failed to chase 131 against Zimbabwe by 1 run. After back-to-back defeats, it felt like their campaign had been ruined and they wouldn’t qualify for the next round.

After Men in Green’s defeat against the associate team, Zomato took a dig at Pakistan by referring to the fact that they will be heading home just after the group stage. Zomato took to Twitter to post: “order placed for home delivery of pak team”. The tweet went viral on the internet and Indian fans made fun of the arch-rivals.

However, the tables were turned after the Netherlands handed an upset to South Africa on the last day of the group stage. With the Proteas’ defeat, the Pakistan team needed a win against Bangladesh to see themselves into the semifinals. And guess what? Babar Azam’s men clinched a comprehensive victory to make a remarkable comeback in the tournament. Here’s how Careem Pakistan replied afterwards:

After Pakistan’s poor start to the tournament, several former Pakistani cricketers and pundits bashed the national team. The likes of Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Hafeez, and Wasim Akram slammed Babar Azam & Co. Some of them even started demanding captaincy changes.

“We reached the semi-finals because of fan’s prayers. I sometimes feel in my heart that our top cricketers need to support us at our difficult time, and not when we reach semi-finals or finals. Team needs support when they lose. We won because of the fans’ prayers and their support,” Shaheen said.

Pakistan will next lock horns against the Group 1 toppers New Zealand in the first semi-final of the event on Wednesday (November 9) at Sydney Cricket Ground. The winner of the contest will face either India or England in the finals, which will be played on Sunday (November 13) at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
