Last year, Chetan Sharma had to resign from his role as chief selector for the Indian Cricket Team. This happened after Zee News conducted a sting operation on him.
During the sting operation, Sharma had made some improper remarks about Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, and Rohit Sharma. He even dwelled a bit on the captaincy saga. Kohli left his spot as captain after alleging that there was some miscommunication between him and Ganguly, the then Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

In his first-ever interview after the sting operation, Sharma claimed Kohli is like his son, expressing his desire to see the 35-year-old play again. Notably, Kohli has opted out of the first two Test matches against England.
Virat Kohli is like my son, and why would I say bad things about him? I always pray for his well-being. I hope he comes back and scores centuries to reach the 100-ton mark in international cricket. Virat is an icon of Indian cricket. I am waiting for his return.Chetan told News 24

Rajat Patidar may get the chance to don the India Test jersey against England for the second Test in Vizag. As KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja got ruled out of the second Test due to injuries, it left the door ajar for Patidar.

Ahead of his potential Test debut, Patidar told BCCI.TV about how much he was influenced by Virat Kohli. Patidar, who has played with Kohli for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), said he always observes Kohli, especially his footwork and body movement.
Notably, in the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL), Patidar got the chance to make his debut and hogged the limelight when he played a fine knock in one of the matches.
