“Could be donning the blue jersey soon” – Kl Rahul praises Mohsin Khan after youngster stars for LSG against KKR

Lucknow Super Giants defeated Kolkata Knight Riders last night in what turned out to be one of the most interesting matches of the season so for. Wining by just 2 runs, LSG now move to 18 points and have secured a place in the play-offs of this year’s IPL. One player who deserves credit for LSG’s win is Mohsin Khan.

Mohsin Khan was the only LSG bowler with an economy of less than 6, ending with figures 3/20 in his spell. The 23 year old first provided the breakthrough up front dismissing both openers. Even when KKR got back into to chase, it was Mohsin in the 13th over restricting them to just 2 runs and putting a halt the chase before also picking up the all important wicket of Andre Russel. His performances have caught the eye of many including his captain KL Rahul.

KL Rahul cheekily implies Mohsin Khan’s possible inclusion in Team India soon

Rahul in his post match interview last night said, “But that’s what you want to see from players, their desire to contribute in any way possible. Mohsin has been outstanding for us in the last few games. He’s got the skills but the key thing has been his knowledge of when to use those skills. He’ll be donning the Blue jersey soon the way he is going.”

Mohsin Khan has picked up 13 wickets for LSG in the 8 games he has played so far this season. What’s also impressive is his economy rate of 5.93, which has been the best among fast bowlers this season. Lucknow Super Giants will be hoping that Mohsin can continue his performance just as much as they will hope Rajasthan lose their next match.

With a better Net Run Rate, Rajasthan Royals could replace Lucknow at second place if they win their last game against Chennai Super Kings.
