West Indies legend Curtly Ambrose has yet again spoken in favor of India’s modern-day great, Virat Kohli. Even though the latter didn’t bat in the 1st ODI against the hosts, the memories of his performance in the two-match Test series are still afresh in everyone’s minds.

Ambrose has earlier spoken about how he doesn’t think the comparison between Virat and Sachin is fair since they have played different brands of cricket. He, however, believes that Virat Kohli’s scoring abilities mustn’t be undermined by any means.

Talking on the ‘Khul Ke’ YouTube channel, Curtly Ambrose emphasized the difference he feels is between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. For the Indian skipper he said, “Rohit Sharma, the skipper. Wonderful player..can be aggressive when he wants to.”

Talking about Kohli he said, “Kohli is Very pleasant to watch, easy on the eyes, and can score quickly without getting aggressive. He is not like a six-hitter per se. Not that he can’t do it. He can score as quickly as guys you call six-hitters. But wonderful player as well. He is great to watch.”

Ambrose believes that Virat Kohli is just as quick at scoring runs as the big six-hitter of the game and his ability to effectively score without having to go for too many aggressive shots is what sets him apart.
