Before the start of the 2023 ODI World Cup, everyone expected Pakistani speedster Haris Rauf to wreak havoc with his raw pace. But as the tournament progressed, Rauf had to face criticism from all corners, given that he proved ineffective on occasions when Pakistan needed it the most, even compounding the team’s misery by conceding a lot of runs.
Rauf has now conceded 500-plus (527) runs in this edition of the World Cup after featuring in nine matches for the side, the most by a bowler in a single edition of the World Cup. Currently, Pakistan are locking horns with England in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens on Saturday (November 11), where he achieved that unwanted feat.

In the match, Rauf bowled 10 overs and conceded 64 runs. He also dismissed Jonny Bairstow, who scored 59 runs from 61 balls, Jos Buttler, and Harry Brook.
Against New Zealand, Rauf was hit for 85 runs from his 10 overs, making him the second most expensive bowler for Pakistan in the history of their World Cup. The first on the list is pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Meanwhile, because of all possibilities, this match is going to be Pakistan’s last World Cup match, because they had very slim chances of qualifying for the semifinals and, with England’s choosing to bat, Babar Azam and Co. lost all chances of qualifying. They are currently fifth in the points table with eight points from the previous eight matches they played.
