The Microsoft CEO has confessed that he is a huge cricket fan and has also invested in a Major League Cricket team.

Microsoft Ignite, an annual conference for IT enthusiasts and professionals hosted by Microsoft, was held from 14th November to 17 November in Seattle. The keynote speaker, Satya Nadela, was supposed to speak in the morning of 15th November but he was late. As he began his speech, he let everyone know why he was late. 

Nadela revealed was busy watching the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup semi-final fixture between India and New Zealand. He told the audience that he didn’t know they scheduled Ignite on the same day as the semi-final and he was up all night watching it.

Little did we know when we scheduled Ignite that we will schedule it on the day when there is a World Cup semifinal going on, in cricket. And I’ve been up all night, but it finished five minutes ago. I am glad it did. This is the short version of the game, by the way.

Nadela has admitted that he is a huge cricket fan, playing and watching cricket while growing up in Hyderabad.  He played for his school team and has credited the experience for his leadership skills. He is also an investor in the Major League Cricket side, Seattle Orcas

Yuzvendra Chahal meets Indian team after historic win

The BCCI released a video of the Indian team celebrating their historic win over New Zealand in the World Cup semi-final. The video saw the players embracing each other as they won. Veteran off-spinner, R. Aswhin, was spotted kissing the hands of Mohammed Shami as he took 7 wickets.

Halfway through the video, leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal entered the dressing room and interacted with his teammates. He was in the audience to watch the semi-final clash and after the game finished he met all of his friends and teammates. He also pulled the cheeks of wicketkeeper, Ishan Kishan.

Chahal was dropped by the team management in 2022 and has not been in contention for over a year. He is still a regular in the T20I squad, recently playing in the 5 match T20I series against West Indies.
