India suffered a heartbreaking six-wicket loss to Australia in the final despite their strong performances in the group stage. The way they played throughout the tournament, Indian fans were hopeful of another World Cup but Australia chased the paltry 241-run target with 42 balls to spare at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday (November 19). The wrecker in chief was Aussie batter Travis Head.

After the loss, Indian players could not control their tears. Captain Rohit Sharma was visibly crying and after congratulating the Aussies, he climbed up the stairs to the dressing room. Mohammed Siraj was seen with teary eyes, while Virat Kohli failed to digest the fact that they lost despite the 765 runs he scored from 11 matches.
