The five-time champions will be playing yet another ODI World Cup final, this time, against host team India. On Thursday (November 16), Australia, led by Pat Cummins, hammered South Africa by three wickets at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

After winning the toss, South Africa chose to bat first. From the very start, Australia were in full control of momentum, for they dismissed four batters for a mere 24 runs.

Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller steadied the ship with their 47 and 101 runs. The century made Miller the first South African to slam a ton in the knock-out stage of the World Cup. It was due to his knock that South Africa crossed 200 and posted 212 on the scoreboard.

But the Proteas bowlers could not defend the total. Travis Head’s 62 and Steve Smith‘s 30 runs and small contributions from other batters helped the side cross 200 and eventually reach the target.
