The final was rather a one-sided affair as India posted just 240 runs on the scoreboard and failed to defend it. Travis Head’s century and a fifty from Marnus Labuschagne helped the side chase down the target easily to guide the team to their sixth World Cup trophy.

After winning the match, Cummins said that his team enjoyed the silence and were satisfied after stopping Kohli from scoring another century. The 35-year-old made 54 runs from 63 balls before Cummins bowled him out in the 29th over.

We took a second in the huddle just to acknowledge the silence that was going around the crowd (after Virat Kohli's wicket).
Cummins said after the match.

He added:

It just felt like it was one of those days when it was all made for him (Kohli) to score another hundred like he normally does. That (wicket) was satisfying.

The two teams will now gear up for another face-off as they will be playing five T20Is starting from November 23. Several regular faces from both sides are expected to miss the matches.
