Veteran Australia opener David Warner opened up about the speculation about his retirement. He said how it feels sickening when the media reaches a step further to focus a lot on his retirement.

The 36-year-old without a doubt, is playing in his last ODI World Cup. He said that despite the coverage, he is focusing a lot on giving his best for his team in the World Cup.

I just can’t wait to finish, and then they’ll have to find someone else’s name to use as clickbait. It’s incredible. To be honest – if I’m being brutally honest, it’s actually been sickening. And that’s why I always put it back to the team. It’s about the team. It’s not about me and what I’m doing,” Warner told Fox Sports.

Earlier this year, Warner said he would play one more year of international cricket. This means the 2024 T20 World Cup can be his final match for the Aussies. He also revealed that the 2024 Test against Pakistan in Sydney can be his last appearance in the longest format.

During Australia’s warm-up match against Pakistan, Warner again mimicked South Indian actor Allu Arjun’s dance moves from the Pushpa film.
