“Every cricketer goes through a rough patch”- Jacques Kallis

Virat Kohli
Virat Kohli and Jacques Kallis

Virat Kohli recently scored his 71st century after a gap of nearly three years. He had been a target of severe criticism when he wasn’t contributing runs to the team. But South Africa’s legendary Jacques Kallis has defended Kohli, saying every cricketer goes through a rough patch.

Every cricketer goes through a rough patch. It’s very normal. What’s important is you peak at the right time and I’m certain Virat Kohli realises what he needs to do for his team in Australia and he will be working upon that,” he said.

Meanwhile, Team India arrived in Nagpur for the 2nd T20I against Australia, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, September 23. Virat Kohli could score only two runs in the first T20I in Mohali. But Hardik Pandya’s 71* as well as KL Rahul‘s half-century and Suryakumar Yadav‘s 46 helped their team post 208/6 in the allotted 20 overs.

But India’s poor fielding and below par bowling failed to resrict the Australians to chase down the target, which they did and won the match by four runs. Aaron Finch‘s team is leading the three-match T20I series by 1-0.
