The Delhi police have registered FIRs for lewd comments on MS Dhoni’s daughter Ziva Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli’s daughter Vamika Kohli. The FIR is under the Information Technology Act, of 2000. Delhi Commission for Women’s chief Swati Maliwal took to Twitter on Monday and said that the culprits will be arrested soon.

“After my notice, the Delhi Police has registered an FIR in the case of indecent comments made on the daughters of Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni. Very soon all the culprits will be arrested and will be put behind the bars,” Swati Maliwal tweeted.

Last week, she shared a few screenshots of those indecent comments on Twitter and promised an FIR against those netizens. “If you don’t like a player, will you abuse their daughters?” Swati Maliwal tweeted after sharing screenshots of the tweets of the netizens.

“Some accounts are making lewd comments by posting pictures of the daughters of two big players of the country Virat Kohli and Dhoni on Twitter. Such nasty things about a two-year-old and seven-year-old girl? If you don’t like a player, will you abuse his daughter? Issuing notice to police to register FIR,” the DCW chief tweeted.

This is not for the first time Ziva and Vamika were targeted online

In 2021, some people issued rape threats to Vamika after Kohli supported Mohammed Shami. Shami was a target of brutal criticism after India’s forgettable 10-wicket loss to Babar Azam-led Pakistan in the 2021 T20 World Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 24.

“There’s a good reason why we are playing on the field and not a bunch of spineless people on social media that have no courage to actually speak to any individual in person,” Kohli had said back then.

As Kohli came out in support of Shami, some people slammed him and Anushka, even not sparing their nine-month-old Vamika, issuing rape threats against her.

In 2020, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) faced defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Some people couldn’t digest it and started targeting Dhoni’s daughter Ziva online.
