In what seems like a bizarre incident, the play was stopped between Galle Gladiators and the Dambulla Giants in the Lanka Premier League after a snake entered the field of play. India’s wicket-keeper batter Dinesh Karthik found the situation quite amusing and took to Twitter to make a hilarious statement about it.

Dinesh Karthik who won India the Nidahas Trophy Final against Bangladesh also linked his tweet to the tournament and brought in the Bangladeshi players’ celebration into the picture. Karthik last played in the 2023 IPL and is currently commentating on the Ashes series.

Dinesh Karthik smoked 29 runs off 8 balls to take India home in the finals against Bangladesh in the Nidahas Trophy in 2018. India won the finals by 4 wickets. Bangladesh’s infamous Naagin dance celebration against Sri Lanka in their last league game was mocked heavily after Karthik’s heroics in the final.

Linking it back to that incident, Dinesh Karthik mentioned the Nidahas trophy in his tweet about a snake stopping play in the Lanka Premier League.

Talking about Karthik’s knock that day, it was nothing short of a miracle. While Bangladesh looked in control of the game, Karthik snatched a win out of their hands. With five runs required off the last ball, Karthik hit a six over extra cover against Soumya Sarkar to bring the infamous win.
