Former England cricketer Dominic Cork gave his interesting verdict on Pakistan’s performance in the 2023 Asia Cup. Pakistan lost two matches in the Super Four stage which ended their campaign in the continental tournament.

First, they got hammered by India by a huge 228 runs. Later, they narrowly missed the chance to beat Sri Lanka.

Cork feels Pakistan looked discombobulated – meaning confused- during the Asia Cup. The ex-England player, however, thinks of India as a complete package and heaped praise on Rohit Sharma and Co. for their devastating game in the final where they demolished Sri Lanka by 10 wickets after restricting Dasun Shanaka and Co. for just 50 runs.

Who’s looking good there? Pakistan are just looking like. discombobulated?” he said on Sky Sports. “I just think the way that you look at Pakistan and think they’d have no chance in the World Cup, you know, you could never write them off. But when you look at India, they just look like a complete package.”

However, former Pakistan greats Javed Miandad and Misbah-Ul-Haq defended the team. Both of them believe that Pakistan have lots of potential but the only thing they need to do is to adjust to the Indian condition and not let playing in India affect them psychologically because in India, Pakistani players will “encounter some hostility”, as per Miandad.
