Suresh Raina announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15 in 2020 minutes after MS Dhoni called it quits to international cricket. He played 226 ODIs and 78 T20Is and ammassed 7720 runs in limited-overs cricket. He played only 18 Test matches and has 768 runs.

In IPL 2022 auction, Suresh Raina went unsold earlier this year and many fans, who had expected CSK to re-sign their star player, had expressed their dissapointment. The 35-year-old hasn’t yet retired from IPL officially. Raina is one of the most successful batsman in IPL history with the runs 5528 from 205 games. Also, he stands fifth on highest run-getters in IPL. In IPL 2022, since he wasn’t picked up by any franchises, he took up the job of a commentator.
