The 3rd match in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League finished in a tie. Meerut Mavericks had scored 181 off their 20 overs, with Madhav Kaushik scoring 87 off 52. While chasing, Kashi Rudras needed 17 off the last over. Thanks to 2 sixes and a boundary by Mohammed Sharim in the final over, Kashi Rudras managed to level the scores, despite losing 3 wickets. 

In the Super Over, Karan Sharma hit a four and six in his first 4 balls, and then got out on the 5th ball. On the last ball of the super over came in Mohammed Sharim and hit a six. Kashi Rudras had set up a target of 17.

For the Meerut Mavericks, out came Rinku Singh and  Divyansh Joshi. Rinku Singh had hit Yash Dayal for 5 back to back sixes in the 2023 IPL, and his team would hope he can recreate the same. 

First ball, dot. Now it’s 17 off 5. Shivam Singh, a left arm off spinner, was bowling around the stump. Next ball he bowls wide of off and Rinku hits it over long off for a 6. The next ball Singh bowls a full toss which Rinku successfully deposits it over deep midwicket. Next ball Rinku again hit it over long off and won his team the match yet again.

Rinku Singh isn’t just an IPL bully

Despite people terming him as a T20 player, people don’t know how good RInku Singh is in other formats. He currently is only in the run for the Indian T20I team, but he has been an important player for Uttar Pradesh’s Cricket Team.

He debuted for Uttar Pradesh in 2014 as a 16 year old and made his first class debut in 2016/17. In the 50 List A matches he has played, Rinku Singh has scored 1750 runs while averaging 53 runs and in first class he scored 3007 runs, averaging 57.82 runs in 63 innings. He already is a key player for Kolkata Knight Riders as well.

Is it possible for Rinku Singh to feature in all formats soon? He has already played 2 T20Is for India, and which such performances in all formats, it is quite possible.
