On 14th October, Rohit Sharma and Co. beat Pakistan by 7 wickets. The Indian bowling attack ripped through the Pakistan batting order under his captaincy and ensured their arch-rivals did not even cross the 200 mark. While chasing, Rohit Sharma attacked from the word go, scoring 86 off 63, bringing up his fifty in just 36 balls. For that performance, Durex thanked his father. 

They posted a photo in which they thanked Rohit Sharma’s father for not using their product. They posted, “Thank you Sharmaji for not using us! Your Beta made us proud”. The post went viral on Instagram and on Twitter as well.

Later while playing host for BCCI Media Team after match videos, Hardik Pandya asked why he was flexing his bicep. Rohit responded, “Arey vo (Erasmus) mujhe puch raha tha ki itna lamba chakka kaise maarte ho?Ye there bat mein kuch hai? Maine bola bat mein nahi bhai power hai (Erasmus asked me how I managed to hit such long sixes, wondering if there was something with the bat, but I just told him it was my own power and not the bat).”

India are currently at the top of the 2023 ODI World Cup group stage. They have not lost a single game so far and after their dominating win over Pakistan, their net run rate also increased by a huge margin. They will now face Bangladesh on 19th in the MCA Stadium, Pune.
