Ben Duckett is part of the England squad for the five-match Test series in India. During the second Test in Vizag, an 11-year-old tweet by Duckett, dug out by the netizens, went viral.
The tweet, posted in 2013, was about MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi Dhoni. Duckett, who probably had no idea that Dhoni married Sakshi in 2010, wrote: “Dhoni’s girlfriend/wife is top drawerrrrr.”

Duckett, who was 18 years old then, probably had seen Sakshi on television as he never came to India to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He placed his name for the 2024 IPL auction at Rs 2 crore but went unsold.
As his old tweet on Sakshi went viral, it drew mixed reactions from the netizens. Some of them expressed their disgust over such a comment about the wife of a respected cricketer like Dhoni.

Ben Duckett also called Virat Kohli and RCB a joke
Not just the fans of MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Ben Duckett also irked the fans of Virat Kohli and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as well. Back in 2018, a tweet asked what Kohli is.
Duckett retweeted it by writing, “A Joke?“. In another tweet, Duckett wrote: “RCB’s team is a joke.”

Duckett performed decently in the first two Tests against India. He scored 35 and 47 in the first match, while in the second one, he scored 21 and 28.
The 29-year-old has played 17 Test matches, collecting 1252 runs after making his debut in 2016 against Bangladesh. In 11 ODIs and 12 T20Is, Duckett has scored 395 and 315 runs respectively.
India won the second Test and tied the series 1-1. The third Test will be played in Rajkot from February 15.
