The third Ashes Test has been dominated by comeback players so far. While Mitchell Marsh starred for Australia with his century in the first inning, Mark Wood left a mark on the Headingley crowd with his fired-up bowling. Not just he bowled at sheer pace but Wood troubled all the Aussie batters. Right from his first over, Wood was spitting venom.

The England pacer’s opening spell was a treat for the fast-bowling fans. Wood hit the deck hard and also rush batters with his raw pace. He eventually breached Usman Khawaja’s defense, uprooting his leg stump. The right-arm pacer then got the best out of Alex Carey, getting him caught at cover.

Wood then quickly cleaned up the tail and ensured England are not hurt by any of the lower-order batters. The pacer got Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and then Todd Murphy to complete his five-wicket haul.

With Wood putting on a display and wreaking havoc at Headingley, fans could not stop themselves from praising the comeback man. Check out the reactions to Mark Wood’s five-wicket haul in the third Ashes Test.

While fans were overjoyed to see England bowling out Australia for 263 on the back of a five-wicket haul from Mark Wood and a three-wicket haul from Chris Woakes, the sloppy batting from Ben Duckett and Harry Brook felt irritating. Both the batters fell cheaply to Pat Cummins.

While Ben Duckett was caught behind as the batter tried to guide a bouncer from Cummins over the wicketkeeper, Harry Brook was caught in the slips. The right-handed batter poked at an outside off-stump delivery only to manage an outside edge into Steve Smith’s hands at second slip.
