Pakistan skipper Babar Azam reportedly exchanged some heated words with pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi in the dressing room after Pakistan’s elimination from the 2023 Asia Cup. Pakistan registered a heartbreaking defeat by two wickets against Sri Lanka in their last Super Four match. Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Moin Khan expressed his concerns about the lack of unity in the team.

Babar reportedly pointed out the shortcomings of the players but Afridi interrupted him, asking him to focus on the positives also. Babar had said that he was aware of which players did well on the field. Right after the the argument, the 29-year-old left the dressing roommate for the press conference and after reaching the team hotel, he did not talk with anyone.

When these reports were shared on the media, Moin Khan commented that no players came to Babar. He believes that it’s good for the team that such things become public because it will help the team to rectify and improve its conduct, and eventually, there will be unity.

We saw in the entire tournament, I’ve commented about it earlier as well… no player walked towards Babar. Neither Rizwan came to him, nor even the vice-captain was coming to him. No one was going to him. It felt like everyone was scattered, there was no unity,” said Moin on Geo TV.
