“Faf’s lonely fight”- Twitter reacts as Faf du Plessis misses ton, helps RCB post 181/6
Faf du Plessis
Faf du Plessis, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain was the lone warrior who helped the team reach a competitive 181/6 against Lucknow Super Giants at the DY Patil Stadium, in Navi Mumbai on Tuesday, April 19.
Faf du Plessis would have scored a ton had Marcus Stoinis not caught the ball in the last over. Needing only 4 runs to complete his century in the last two balls of RCB’s innings, a ball from Jason Holder made du Plessis pull it to deep square leg. The ball didn’t connect well and Marcus Stoinis made no mistake.
Faf du Plessis scored 96 runs from 64 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes. This was the perfect opportunity Du Plessis to score his maiden hundred but for the 2nd time, he got dismissed for 96.

RCB vs LSG match so far
Earlier in the game, LSG won the toss and opted to bowl first. RCB lost Anuj Rawat and Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli once again failed to score runs.
Dushmantha Chameera hit a hard length and served it outside off. Kohli could have left it but flashed his bat at it and had hit it straight to the point to Deepak Hooda who took an easy catch. It was a golden duck for Virat Kohli.
Maxwell played a quick inning, hitting 3 fours and a six before giving his wicket to Krunal Pandya. When Maxwell was gone, RCB was at 44/3 and later batsmen Shahbaz Ahmed scored a slow 26 off 22 balls to keep innings steady when on the other side Faf du Plessis was hitting. After him Dinesh Karthik played some shots and RCB’s innings ended with 181/6. Chameera and Jason Holder took 2 wickets each and Krunal Pandya took 1 wicket.
