The last match of the super 12 could not have been any more exciting as India played Zimbabwe at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first in a match where a win for the Men in Blue would take them to the top of group 2.

KL Rahul carried the form he displayed in the previous match as he looked in good touch scoring 54 runs with 3 sixes and 3 fours in 35 deliveries. Captain Rohit Sharma continued with his struggles as he departed for his 15 in 13. Chase Master Virat Kohli entered the pitch to take the game forward.

He scored a slow but contributing 26 off 25 balls. Rishabh Pant who came in for Dinesh Karthik scored a mere 3 as Hardik Pandya contributed with his 18. The star of the show Suryakumar Yadav has been outstanding throughout the tournament, and once again he proved his class.

Yadav scored 61 runs of 25 with a strike rate of 244 along with 6 fours and 4 sixes to guide India to 186 for the loss of 5. Zimbabwe started the match in the worst possible fashion as they lost their opener Wesley Madhvere on the first ball of the innings.

The only run-getters for the Zimbabwean side were Sikandar Raza and Ryan Burl who scored 35 runs each. Every bowler used by Rohit Sharma took a wicket and displayed an exceptional performance. R Ashwin got the most with 3 wickets to his name as India bowled out Zimbabwe for 115 in 17.2 overs
