Bangladesh are having a terrible time on the field during the 2nd Test match between them and Sri Lanka. Losing the 1st Test by 328, they needed a win in the 2nd but it looks like they will lose the Test series to the visitors.

The first innings saw Bangladesh drop over 6 chances as Sri Lanka scored a mammoth 531. It saw one of the funniest catch drops, as a regulation catch saw three slip fielders missing a golden chance. Learning from their mistake, they gave their 100% during Sri Lanka’s second innings.

After bowling out the hosts for 178, SL decided to bat again but their top order failed to make a mark. They lost their first six wickets for just 89 runs, with four of them coming from catches.

During the 21st over, Prabath Jayasuriya played a ball outside off between slips and point. As the ball ran towards the boundary, the four fielders in the slip cordon and point ran to stop the ball. The fielder at point finally stopped the ball, before handing it to slips.

Fans find Bangladesh’s fielding effort hilarious

When fans saw the clip of the five Bangladesh fielders running after the ball, many joked how it reminded them of a scene in popular Hindi film Lagaan, where all fielders ran behind the ball. They further mocked Bangladesh for their poor performance in the match,

At the end of day two, Sri Lanka are 102/6 in 25 overs, with Jayasuriya and Angelo Mathews in the middle. They have a massive lead of 455 runs and will most likely start bowling on the 4th Day. If Sri Lanka wins or draws this Test, it would be their first series win of the 2023/25 WTC cycle.
