For the first time in his career, Babar Azam was set to play his first match against India in India. Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl first. He explained his reasons and also confirmed that Shubman Gill was back. Rohit was greeted by cheers when he gave the good news. When Babar Azam went to speak to Ravi Shastri, he was greeted with boos by the crowd in the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The jeering by the Indian fans was really loud, but Babar did not respond to them. He spoke about the atmosphere and how excited he was to play in front of such a crowd. He then confirmed that the Pakistan team was unchanged and he was happy to bat first.

Pakistan lost their first two wickets thanks to Mohammed Siraj and Hardik Pandya. On a tough pitch, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have both tackled the Indian bowling attack well so far, with the Pakistan Captain scoring his first half century of the World Cup. Unfortunately Babar was sent back thanks to a beautiful delivery by Mohammad Siraj

Fans find the booing hilarious and want more 

As Babar Azam went up to the toss, a huge portion of the crowd were happy to boo the Pakistan captain. A fan who was in the stadium shared the clip online for everyone to see. The reaction to the video was polarizing, with many unhappy with the behavior while others enjoyed it.

One fan commented, “That’s rude, do it again.” Fans in the stadium enjoyed booing the captain of their rival and were ready for the big match. Netizens wanted the fans to be more hostile towards the team to intimidate them as well. A fan from Pakistan commented on the booing but said that the home crowd was allied to do it. 

Some netizens were unhappy with the booing, saying it was disrespectful. One fan understood why they wanted to boo, but saied they should have waited till he came to bat. Some said the booing was not necessary and the fans should be ashamed of themselves.
