Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Virat Kohli scripted history on Monday (10 April) as he completed a half-century against every team to have played in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). As Kohli completed a half-century against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), he achieved this unique feat. The RCB batter reached his half-century in 35 balls.

Kohli got lucky early in his inning as the top edge against Avesh Khan flew over the wicketkeeper’s head for a six. However, the batter looked in complete control from thereon as he hit four boundaries and as many sixes in his inning. The best shot of Kohli’s inning came against LSG’s fastest bowler, Mark Wood. The batter stood tall as Wood bowled a short delivery and dispatched it for a maximum over deep midwicket.

The star batter also took charge against the spinners as he hit Krunal Pandya for a six over long-on. But with Faf du Plessis struggling from the other end, Kohli eventually succumbed to his aggressive batting. The batter could not time a short ball from Amit Mishra and ended up handing a catch to Marcu Stoinis in the deep.

With Kohli going bonkers right from the start and achieving a unique feat, fans went crazy on social media. Reactions poured in from all corners as the former RCB captain played a blistering knock.

Kohli starts IPL 2023 on a high

The star batter has started the new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on a high as Kohli has already scored two half-centuries in three matches. While he smashed an unbeaten 82 in the opening fixture against Mumbai Indians (MI), he scored an 18-ball 21 against Kolkata Knight Riders.

It’s worth mentioning that Kohli holds the record for scoring the most runs in one season. The RCB batter piled up a massive 973 in the 2016 edition of the IPL when RCB reached the final.
