A day after Lucknow Super Giants‘ (LSG) bitter exit from the Indian Premier League (IPL), a tweet has been doing rounds on the micro-blogging platform. Mumbai Indians (MI) hammered Krunal Pandya and Co. to knock them out by 81 runs in the Eliminator on Wednesday (May 24) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

In that tweet, the user, Naveen Ul Haq asked for forgiveness from former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli and the tweet instantly went viral. Naveen Ul Haq wrote: “I am sorry Virat Kohli Sir“. The tweet was an instant hit among netizens as they started thinking that incessant trolls forced Naveen to eat humble pie; however, here’s a twist. This tweet is not from the actual Afghan pacer but from a parody account.

But Twitteratis, without checking much, started reacting to the tweet, thinking Naveen-ul-Haq has learned his lesson on what happens when someone messes up with Virat Kohli. Some fans, who trolled the 23-year-old for his behavior toward Kohli even pardoned the former because of his apology to the former India captain.

The duo’s rivalry started during LSG’s match against RCB. Nothing much happened on the slow Ekana track but in the 17th over, Naveen and Kohli were involved in a heated war of words. But after the match, during the handshake, the youngster and Kohli again exchanged words and soon, it turned into an ugly mess, between Kohli and LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir.

After the match, Kohli and Naveen shared cryptic posts on their respective social media handles. During RCB’s poor show in their matches, Naveen even posted pictures enjoying the match with “sweet mangoes“. After RCB’s elimination from IPL via defeat against Gujarat Titans (GT), Naveen shared a viral laughing meme. But now he is facing heavy trolls from fans following LSG’s elimination.
