In what came as a big surprise for the fans, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were rested for the second ODI against West Indies. While the fans were still not over the reckless change in the batting order in the first ODI, the decision to drop two of India’s marquee players in a World Cup year did not sit well.

With no Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya came out for the toss and revealed the rationale behind resting Rohit and Virat. Pandya justified the decision in the name of workload management.

“Rohit and Virat have been playing constant cricket, few questions need to be answered for us so they are resting in this game. They can be fresh for the third ODI,” said Pandya at the toss. However, fans did not like this mindset of the Indian team management one bit as they termed the decision illogical.
