The Netherlands cricket team qualified for the 2023 ODI World Cup and ended the qualifier race as Runners-Up. While they lost the final to Sri Lanka, they did qualify for the ODI World Cup scheduled in India later this year.

Moments after qualification, Netherlands’ coach Ryan Cook made an emotional plea to full member nations, urging them to play the Netherlands in subcontinent conditions since the Dutch don’t have much experience playing in those conditions. This plea was made in an attempt to get used to the playing conditions ahead of the World Cup.

The Netherlands are scheduled to play in Hyderabad, Dharamsala, Lucknow, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, and Bangalore. They last played in India during the 2011 ODI World Cup and will now return to Indian soil after 12 years.
