India are currently on a trophy drought, last winning an ICC tournament in 2013. Since then, they have reached five finals and four semi-finals, failing to win a single title. With months left for the 2024 T20 World Cup, there has been talks of change.

In the past few days, rumors have come out of the Indian team dropping Virat Kohli from the World Cup squad. They claimed that the Indian legend would struggle on the slow pitches of the Caribbean. Along with that, the selection committee wanted to move on from him, wanting to play younger players. Michael Vaughan believes Ajit Agarkar should go forward with the move, asking him to be “brave”.

What I'll say to Ajit Agarkar, don't be scared of being brave. If he ultimately believes that the Indian T20 team is better off without a Virat Kohli or a KL Rahul, that's how he should deliver the team.

Vaughan believes with a new team, they won’t be under pressure and won’t carry the baggage of the 2023 World Cup final loss. He added that the team would do better with a “fresh set of minds”.

Pakistani cricketer asks BCCI to ‘think wisely’

Virat Kohli scored 2024 IPL’s first century on 6th April, smashing 113 against Rajasthan Royals. While he was panned for scoring the slowest IPL century by an Indian, many did praise his efforts. Kohli now has 316 runs, holding the Orange Cap for his performances. With him being in great form, Pakistani batter Ahmed Shehzad asked the BCCI to think wisely before dropping him.

Kohli has been the only positive side in a poor RCB side so far. Out of the 867 runs scored by RCB in the tournament so far, Kohli has brought up almost 36.44% of the runs. The team stands 9th on the points table, with only two points in hand.

RCB will face rivals Mumbai Indians on 11th April at the Wankhede Stadium. Both teams have had a tough time so far, with poor results in the past two weeks.
