Hardik Pandya was Gujarat Titan’s captain for two years, being their first pick in 2022. As their captain, he took the side to back-to-back finals, winning on his very first try. In 2023, he forced a move to his old franchise, Mumbai Indians, for ₹15-crore for 2024 IPL. He was also made the new Mumbai Indians captain, replacing Rohit Sharma.

Ahead of the 2024 IPL, Aakash Chopra said he wanted the Titan fans to hate their former captain for returning to Mumbai Indians. He claimed the league will mature if Pandya is booed when he goes for the toss at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Now Hardik Pandya goes to Mumbai after winning the championship once, leading the team to the final the next time. And not just that but choosing to leave the franchise. If there isn't any heartburn in the public of Ahmedabad, if they don't feel hurt, where is the fun? I am expecting. No, I am hoping – don't tell anyone – that Hardik goes for the toss and people go 'Boo'. That's where the league matures.

He took the example of Ajit Agarkar, who played for Kolkata Knight Riders in the first season of the IPL. A beloved Mumbai icon, he was booed while playing at the Wankhede as the fans did not like him playing for a non-Mumbai team.

Aakash Chopra hails debutant Akash Deep for incredible debut

On 23rd February, Akash Deep made his Test debut for India. In his first spell he picked up the wickets of Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope and Zak Crawley in his opening spell. He had bowled Crawley in his 2nd over, but as he overstepped a no-ball was given.

Impressed, Aakash Chopra heavily praised the 27-year old. He claimed the way Deep had bowled, no one would’ve believed he was a debutant.

One might have felt that Siraj was making his debut because Akash Deep bowled like he has been playing Test cricket for a long time. India team is going through a period of transition.

Akash Deep has played 30 first-class matches, representing Bengal and Rest of India. He has picked up 104 wickets, with an impressive average of 23.58.
