Former IPL champion believes Rohit Sharma could RETURN as captain as Mumbai Indians ‘don’t hesitate in making decisions’

Ever since Hardik Pandya became captain, Mumbai Indians has failed to win a single match. Although the first match was a close call, they performed poorly in the next two matches.

Fans have been calling for the sacking of Hardik Pandya since then. They have been blaming the all-rounder for all their losses. In their second match, they conceded the most runs total in IPL history with Trent Boult running through the MI batting-order for fun.

With MI at the bottom of the IPL points table, former IPL winner and ex-Bengal captain Manoj Tiwary believes the franchise can sack Pandya. He claimed the owners would be ready to sack him for Rohit Sharma. 

Mumbai's captaincy could be handed back to Rohit Sharma. What I understand is that the owners of Mumbai Indians don't hesitate in making decisions. They made the call of taking the captaincy from Rohit and giving it to Hardik Pandya despite Rohit winning five IPL titles for them.

Tiwary further added that Pandya’s captaincy has not been great. He pointed out how Pandya failed to win a single point and the possibility of him being replaced was there.

Hardik Pandya has been subjected to hate and is booed by fans of every stadium he has been to. It got worse when he played at the Wankhede Stadium in front of the Mumbai Indians fans, as all of them kept booing him. Rohit Sharma came in the defense of his replacement as per videos surfaced on social media, asking the fans to stop booing him.

Pandya’s next match as captain will be against Delhi Capitals and then against rivals Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings. These matches will be make-or-break for MI’s campaign because if they lose, then it will be difficult for them to qualify for the playoffs.
