Virat Kohli has been in the news for the past few months for various reasons, but the top news was of him not playing the Test Series against England. The other was of him being dropped from the 2024 T20I World Cup

According to reports, the BCCI and selectors wanted to drop Kohli from the 2024 T20 World Cup squad as they believed he wouldn’t be able to handle the slow pitches of West Indies. Former World Cup winner, Kirti Azad, was not happy with Kohli being dropped.

In a post on X, Azad called out Jay Shah for meddling in the selection process. He claimed that Shah had instructed Ajit Agarkar to convince Kohli to give up T20s, but that hasn’t happened. Azad said even Rohit Sharma said he needed Kohli in the squad.

Why should Jay Shah, he is not a selector, to give responsibility to Ajit Agarkar to talk to the other selectors and convince them that Virat Kohli is not getting a place in the T20 team. For this, time was given till 15th March. If sources are to be believed, Ajit Agarkar was neither able to convince himself nor the other selectors.

Jay Shah asked Rohit Sharma too but Rohit said we need Virat Kohli at any cost.  Virat Kohli will play the T20 World Cup and its official announcement will be made before the team selection. Nincompoops should not invovle (involve) themselves in selection process.
He added

Kohli has played only two T20Is since November 2022, but had a fabulous 2023 IPL. Kohli had finished as the 2022 T20I World Cup’s highest run-scorer, putting up 296 runs in six innings. Along with that, he was the fourth highest run scorer in the 2023 IPL, scoring 639 runs in 14 innings.

He has now finally returned to India, just days before the start of the 2024 IPL. In a video that has gone viral, he is greeted by the paparazzi in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport.

In the IPL, he plays for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He is the only player in the history of the IPL to play for one franchise since the inaugural season in 2008. He captained them from 2013 till 2022.
