Fans are not at all happy with Rohit Sharma after India’s failure at the World Test Championship (WTC) Final. India were hammered by the Australians by a mammoth 209 runs while chasing 444 at The Oval on Sunday (June 12).

Most of the Indian fans want Rohit to retire from international cricket. The reason is India’s lackluster shows in major events. Frustrated fans have made the #sackrohit hashtag viral on Twitter. And the same time, many of them, instead of blaming the captain, called it a team failure.

But the leaders’ decisions are targeted a lot here. The pair of Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid thought it best to choose bowling in overcast English weather, which according to fans and experts was the biggest mistake.

The second mistake as per them is benching world no.1 bowler Ravichandran Ashwin. As per the condition, Shardul Thakur was included in the team as a fourth seamer and left out a second spinner that is Ashwin. While every player is facing incessant trolling on social media, Rohit’s retirement tweets have taken center stage.

Meanwhile talking about the WTC Final, Australia were asked to bat first and they posted 469 runs with the help of Steve Smith and Travis Head’s centuries. Later the Aussie bowlers bundled out India for 296 runs.

After scoring 270/8d in their second innings, Pat Cummins and Co. gave a 444-run target which India couldn’t chase, and got skittled out for a mere 234 runs on the final Day. And Australia became the first country to become champion in every ICC tournament.
