For Gautam Gambhir, if the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had not started the Indian Premier League (IPL), it would have been their worst decision. Gambhir lauded the lucrative tournament for helping the youngsters prepare for international matches.

The 17th edition of the IPL may start on March 22, but the dates have not been finalized yet. Some reports claimed the dates for the 2024 IPL will be finalized after the Election Commission’s announcement of dates for the 2024 general elections.

He led the City of Joy to two IPL trophies in 2012 and 2014 and his time in the league and the general benefits the IPL provides made Gambhir say the BCCI would have made a terrible mistake if they did not start the IPL.

I believe it would’ve been a terrible choice for BCCI since the IPL stands out as the most beneficial development for Indian cricket.

Gautam Gambhir feels Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will feel the pressure during South Africa Tests

India and South Africa will square off against each other for a two-Test series, starting December 26 at the SuperSports Stadium in Centurion. The Asian giants are yet to taste series victory in the Rainbow Nation, so it will be interesting to see how Rohit Sharma and Co. perform in the match.

Gautam Gambhir thinks the two senior players of the team, Rohit and Virat Kohli, will feel the pressure most because they have experience. The Delhi-born former cricketer is expecting a dominating performance by the South African bowlers on their home pitches. Gambhir also thinks the exclusion of Mohammed Shami will add more pressure on the visiting team.
