The suspense around the hosts of Asia Cup 2023 is getting more intense with every passing day. While the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is trying hard to keep the hosting rights to itself, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) through its Secretary Jay Shah, who is also the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) President, is trying to get the tournament moved to a neutral venue. The reason is BCCI does not want its players to travel to Pakistan.
Working in the same regard, the Indian cricket board has invited the board presidents of Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh to the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad where the IPL 2023 Final will be played. Although it has been a tradition for a while, this time it is more of a tactical move.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah confirmed the development on Thursday to a prominent sports magazine, Sportstar. Shah also revealed that the officials will hold a discussion about the future of Asia Cup 2023.

Fans react on PCB Chief missing out
With all other members of the Asian Cricket Council invited, Pakistan Cricket Board Chief Najam Sethi might feel left out. However, there has been no reaction from across the border to this new development. Meanwhile, the fans took a jibe at Sethi and PCB for not getting an invitation.
