“Get 100 every single game” – David Warner reveals the high expectations his daughters have from their father
David Warner
David Warner has established himself as one of the best batsman of T20 cricket and of IPL in particular. The Aussie maintained that feature throughout the IPL 2022 season with Delhi Capitals as he went on the become their highest run getting despite playing fewer games compared to his teammates.
David Warner scored 432 runs in 12 games at an average of 48 and a strike rate of just over 150. He went on to bat through the innings in multiple games as well, chasing down targets and also setting up huge totals for the team. However, the Aussie failed to hit a century through out IPL 2022, with 92 being his highest score. Something that his daughters highly expected from their 35 year old father.
David Warner and Wife speak about what their daughters expected from the Australian in IPL 2022
In an interview with Fox Cricket, David Warner’s wife, Candice said, “It was an experience. The girls take David (Warner) getting out really, really hard. And it’s me going afterwards. ‘No, it’s okay. He actually did really well. He contributed to the team’. But they expect him to get 100 every single game,”
Responding to that, Warner said, “It’s not. It’s not. It’s actually hard because when you come home, and every day it’s just like why can’t you get a 100? It’s not that simple.” Delhi Capitals got eliminated from IPL 2022 in their final game of the season as they failed to get the better of Mumbai Indians. However, Warner was still a stand out performer for the team as he now prepares with the National team for their upcoming International fixtures.
