Losing the first Test against Bangladesh, New Zealand had to ensure they won the 2nd match to gain points in the World Test Championship. Despite bowling out the hosts for 172, they did not start off their first innings well.
Finishing the first day 55/5, New Zealand had Glenn Mitchell and Darryl Mitchell in the middle. Despite the low target, the Bangladeshi spinners once again dismantled the top order, with them being 69/6. It once again took a brilliant innings by Glenn Phillips to lead New Zealand to a win. He scored 40 off 48 and all-rounder Mitchell Santner supported him with a vital 35 off 39 to ensure the win. The series ended 1-1, with Phillips being awarded man of the match award for his brilliant innings and the 3 wickets he picked up.

New Zealand will now travel back home for their Home season, where they will host Bangladesh, Pakistan and Australia for limited overs matches.
