Rishabh Pant has finally returned to cricket after missing out on over 15 months of cricket. He was in a dangerous car accident that saw injuries to his wrists, back, knees and feet. After multiple surgeries and a long recovery period at the National Cricket Academy, the Indian star is finally back.
Spending months of rehab and recovery in the NCA, Rishabh Pant was recently declared fit and available to play for Delhi Capitals in the 2024 IPL. Just a few days before the start of the tournament, he was confirmed to be available to keep as well.

On 23rd March, Pant finally made his comeback. To celebrate his return, Google India posted a screenshot of the number of days the Indian star had not played cricket. He had last played during India’s tour of Bangladesh, in the 2nd Test of the series. Pant had scored a match-winning 93.
Rishabh Pant had to be pulled out of the batting nets
The day before Rishabh Pant’s comeback, Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting met the press and spoke about the season. In the conference, he revealed that Pant was physically doing well and needed to be pulled out of the batting nets.

We had a week’s training in Vizag before coming here and trust me Rishabh is back and ready to play. He is batting and moving behind the stumps beautifully. Sometimes he bats too much and I have to drag him out of the nets. I’ve seen where his game is at, and don’t be surprised if something special happens tomorrow. His attitude and smile and what he wants to do for the team is infectious. Everyone wants to be like Rishabh.Ricky Ponting said
Unfortunately Pant’s comeback was not the way he would have wanted it. He scored 18 off 13, being dismissed by Harshal Patel. Defending a target of 175, they couldn’t stop Punjab Kings and lost their first match of the season.
