Talking about the match, Gujarat won the toss and decided to bat first. Their decision proved to be a wrong one.

Gujarat Titans openers didn’t give a good start as Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill scored 21 and 9 respectively. It was Kagiso Rabada who from the starting kept restricting the Titans. In the 4th over, Kagiso Rabada persisted with his line outside off and delivered it on a length. Saha tried for a lofted shot but it resulted in a top edge and Mayank Agarwal backtracked from extra covers to grab the skier safely.

Shubman Gill had to walk back because of an excellent throw by Rishi Dhawan. Gill hit the ball towards the cover and went for a run. But Rishi Dhawan picked it up quickly and aimed it at the bullseye to caught Shubman Gill short by a good distance.

Shubman Gill seemed frustrated because he thought PBKS bowler Sandeep Sharma got in his way but the latter didn’t move at all in his follow-through. Gill then made his way to the dressing room.

Hardik Pandya scored a one run. David Miller and Rahul Tewatia scored 11 runs each.

But a good knock from Sai Sudarshan kept the hope of the Titans alive. Sudarshan scored an unbeaten 64 in 50 balls by smashing 5 fours and a six, helping the GT to reach a total of 143/8 .

Kagiso Rabada in his 4 overs scalped 4 wickets, of Saha, Tewatia, Rashid Khan, and Lockie Ferguson. Arshdeep Singh, Rishi Dhawan, and Liam Livingstone picked up 1 wicket each.
