Rahul Tewatia is playing in the ongoing Ranji Trophy for Haryana and after his maiden First Class century, he started trending on social media. Tewatia smashed his first century against Jharkhand on Saturday (February 10) in Jamshedpur.
But not his innings, but his looks became a talking point in the town. In the picture, Tewatia batted with his cap and sported a mustache, and resembled the batters of yore.
On X (formerly Twitter), fans started comparing his looks with those of legendary Pakistan batter Javed Miandad who played from 1975 to 1996. Tewatia is a well-known name in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
He currently plays for the Gujarat Titans (GT) after getting picked up by the franchise in the 2022 season for INR 9 crore. His role is mostly to give a finishing touch to the innings. He played 17 matches last year, scoring 87 runs at a strike rate of 152.63.

Meanwhile, in the match between Haryana and Jharkhand, the former won the toss and decided to bat first. They posted 509 after a century from Ankit Kumar (109), Tewatia’s 144, Sumit Kumar‘s 86, and Himanshu Rana‘s 82.
Jharkhand got bundled out for 119 runs. The visitors then opted for the follow-on as they were in a commanding position. Jharkhand failed to reach the target in their second inning and lost the match by an innings and 205 runs.
