A day after his birthday, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh was heavily trolled on Twitter for his post. While answering who he thinks are the five best Test cricketers in the world right now, he misspelled the names of the cricketers excluding Nathan Lyon.
Indian sports writer Ayaz Memom who goes by the name of Cricketwallah on Twitter asked the Twitteratis about the five best Test cricketers in the world right now. He wrote: “Who are the 5 best Test cricketers in the world today? Not just in terms of skill , but game-changers, matchwinners, players most likely to cone good on the “Big Occasion’. I’ll pitch 2 names: Ben Stokes. Pat Cummins. (surely No dispute here surely!). Pick 3 others“.
Harbhajan retweeted the post at 4 am on Tuesday (July 4) with his list by writing: “Nathan lyon Steav Smith Rishab Panth Ravinder Jadeja Ben strokes“. This attracted criticism as the spellings of the names are wrong except for Nathan Lyon. The correct spellings are Steve Smith, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ben Stokes.
Here’s how fans trolled Harbhajan Singh for his mistakes and ignoring Ravichandran Ashwin
Harbhajan Singh and Ravichandran Ashwin are often pitted against each other because the latter has often replaced the Punjab-born off-spinner in the team. As Ashwin is the No.1 Test bowler in the world right now, fans called out Harbhajan for ignoring the Tamil Nadu-born due to personal “insecurity”.
Here are some reactions:
Meanwhile, Ashwin was a part of the squad that went to England for the World Test Championship (WTC) Final. But despite his receiving the Player of the Series in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy earlier this year, he was dropped from the playing XI. India later lost the match by a massive 209 runs.
